ROSELAND " Exploring nature, the art of beekeeping and buildingbirdhouses are amid the winter offerings at the Essex CountyEnvironmental Center, 621-B Eagle Rock Avenue.

Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday by Friday and10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Little Explorers Winter Nature Program

Meets 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays by Feb. 15 or Fridays,Dec. 9 by Feb. 17 for ages 2 to 3 years; 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.Wednesdays by Feb. 15 or Fridays, Dec. 9 by Feb. 15 forages 3 to 5 years.

This child-caregiver category uses stories, walks and crafts todevelop an recognition and high regard for scholarship and inlet forthe youngster together with the caregiver. Nature's Playground

Bug Club

Meets 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Dec. 13, Jan. 10, and Feb. 14. Forchildren ages 6 to 10.

Green Kids Club

Meets 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Dec. 20, Jan. 17 and Feb. 21. Forchildren ages 7 to 12.

Outdoor Adventure Club

Meets 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 4, and Feb. 1. For young kids ages7 to 12.

Let's obtain outward and see where the hour takes us. We oly mightbuild forts, gather firewood, jump over rocks, discuss it stories, puncture forcritters, mark wildlife, fool around label and more. Let's blow similar to thewind. Birding Field Trips in Essex County

At this time of year, you will be seeking for proprietor andover-wintering birds together with scenic vistas. Many of these tripsare to Essex County parks, the oldest county playing field network in theUnited States. Dave will set an easy pace, and many of the trailsare turn and wide. Hikes take place unless trails are impassabledue to sleet or ice; complicated rain or sleet cancels. Trips are led byDave Hall. Thursday Morning Field Trips

Essex County Weequahic Park

Runs 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12. Visit an Essex County oasiswhile probing for wintering ducks, gulls and passerine birds. Allcan be noticed along an easy route around the lake. Meet at theEssex County Environmental Center in Roseland and you ! will car poolto the park. Fee: $6 members, $8 nonmembers

Essex County Becker Park

Runs 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26.

This is a of the most appropriate places for birdlife in the county with amixture of meadow and woodland habitats!

Participants will encounter in the parking lot of the Essex CountyEnvironmental Center in Roseland where they will carpool to thehike location. Wear cozy boots and clothes.
